> Julie Methven Read moreJulie Methven’s passion for improving the working fabric of society has been the driving force in the development of her career. In the late 1980s Julie identified a need in the construction industry for a full-service outsourced resource, ranging from human resources, project management to the regulatory/statutory requirements.  Working with Methven Projects she contracted extensively to the industry until 1999.  In 1999 she was the first person to be employed by the Compliance Institute Southern Africa growing it from a zero base to over 3000 members and expanding into Africa.  Julie’s responsibilities included all aspects of developing and running the Institute from membership, conferences, human resources, operations, IT, strategy, professional and industry development.  Her experience in Project Management held her in good stead as her main focus was to identify and manage projects that would grow the Institute and enhance the profession.  She also obtained her MBA during this time.  Her input was at such a level, that the members had no hesitation in appointing her the CEO, where she remained until she felt it was time for her to explore her passion for education management and professional development. In 2017, Julie resigned from the Institute to focus on promoting best practice through ISO standards and concentrating on small and medium sized companies outside the financial services sector all over Africa.  She also provides an independent review service to companies on their compliance, anti-bribery, OHS, cybersecurity, risk and environmental management systems.  Julie has experience in all these areas and using this vast knowledge consults to SMMEs on best practice in all aspects of operations.
